Design work is now at 'full steam ahead' on the 18 storey East Park Terrace development in Southampton is currently underway.

Tripoli, Libya

Principle construction works are nearing completion on the swimming pool and diver training centre in Tripoli.

Falmer Community Stadium

We are very pleased to be involved in the successful (eventually!) planning permission achieved by Brighton & Hove Albion for the new stadium. HOP is now appointed as Structural and Civil Engineers on the new Falmer Community Stadium. We are delighted to be working with Stephen Morley – world-renowned stadium designer. i360 observation tower

The fantastic i360 observation tower at the site of the West Pier in Brighton has just received planning permission. HOP is involved as Engineers for beach level works and to the existing 1866 pier as Honorary Engineers to the Brighton West Pier Trust since 1991.

Site Acquisition hits the right chord with developers

Our Site Acquisition service has hit the right chord with developers, housebuilders and other clients. HOP give presentations on this around the south and provide a specific pre-acquisition service to look at all the potential problems on a site before detailed surveys or the purchase process itself is put in hand. This can identify key problems early, saving wasted time and money, but may often present a different angle to a potential developer, often giving better returns..."Time spent on reconnaissance is time well spent"

Judicial court building in Abuja (Nigeria)

The new judicial court building in Abuja (Nigeria) is nearing completion. HOP acted as Structural Engineers on this project.

Shoreham Harbour

HOP has just started preliminary work on another massive timber storage shed at Shoreham Harbour (70m clear span x 120m!). Another successful collaboration with ReidSteel of Christchurch.

Westbury Homes on the Isle of Wight

Works are nearing completion at Medina Road, Cowes. Contamination, extremely soft ground, flooding problems and the marine environment are just some of the points HOP needed to address in the design of this modern apartment block just started construction for Westbury Homes on the Isle of Wight.

Ocean Village, Gibraltar

The next phase of Ocean Village, Gibraltar with a mega new marina, boulevards, sail promontories and imposing Heart Island are now completed at main design stage. Following the completion of the 16-storey stepped apartment block, work is now under way for a 3-storey leisure centre and parking facilities.

Brighton Station

The Brighton Station site and car park, won on design and build basis with Adenstar Developments, comprises innovative use of 14m span (yes - 14m!) precast concrete units.

Site G (Residential and Commercial) also all engineered by HOP and now nearing completion.

Chelsea FC Training Ground

Contractor's design by HOP including craneage, excavations, piling etc for Dean and Dyball.

Infrastructure projects

HOP has several infrastructure projects at present including The Coalyard, Westbury, a residential home for the elderly which has just started on site. This project, located on a steeply sloped site, involves land contamination, excess groundwater and difficult access issues.

Civils department

Also within the Civils department we have projects such as the dredging of the Gravesend canal, major works at Brighton Marina and along the Thames Estuary.

Earthquake resistant buildings on the West coast of America

Of special interest we have work on the West coast of America regarding earthquake resistant buildings, dry dock gates at Falmouth, full design of a diving centre in Libya, and eco friendly buildings in the suburbs of Brighton including a roof made from grass, and building materials carefully sourced for their sustainability.
