BCO South Regional Awards 2022 for Teville Gate House

HOP are pleased to announce that Teville Gate House in Worthing recently won the Regional Award for Best Corporate Workplace! HOP provided Civil and Structural engineering design services for the building and were invited to the awards ceremony hosted by the British Council for Offices’ along with the other Teville Gate team members.

The building, a five-storey open plan office, will house 900 full-time HMRC employees. It is a HMRC specialist site and was commended for its natural light and collaborative workspaces. Other features include electric vehicle charging and cycle spaces, as well as more than double the floor space of the former building. The judging panel praised the different workspaces on offer and that these provided environments for all varieties of work. We must also mention the dog wellbeing area, a real highlight that sets the building apart from the rest!

The structure is a lightweight hot rolled steel frame, using cellular beams and composite metal/concrete deck floors.  Externally the building is clad using prefabricated concrete panels, with facing brickwork and encapsulated insulation.  This significantly sped up the Programme for the project that was delivered during the COVID lockdown.

HOP Director Adam Humphrey was at the awards ceremony, and said the following about the win;

‘To win the Best in Region Corporate Workplace Award felt awesome and provided evidence that others also agree that Teville Gate is a great new commercial office. We’re now entered into the National Awards, so have another opportunity to gain further recognition. Fingers Crossed!’

A huge congratulations to the team for all their hard work on this!
