Hove Plinth Public Launch

The completed Hove Plinth was revealed on Saturday 21st April. Inspired by the Fourth Plinth in London, Hove Plinth will showcase a new local sculpture every 12-18 months on Hove seafront, providing an exciting new cultural attraction for the local community.

It was a wonderful celebration with hundreds of people attending the occasion. The Mayor of Brighton cut the ribbon to reveal the plinth and it’s spectacular first sculpture, Constellation by Jonathan Wright. Hove Plinth was designed by Hove Civic Society and funded by grants, crowd funding and help from local business.

HOP provided advice to overcome the design challenge for the plinth to accommodate a wide range of future sculptures.  As a result, we were awarded ‘Hove Plinth Heroes’ for our contribution.
